    1) Purpose

    Define SmartTechHub's commitment to responsible handling and recycling of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) in line with the UK WEEE Regulations 2013 and our ESG objectives.

    2) Scope

    Applies to all WEEE generated by SmartTechHub and all equipment handled for clients, including collection, processing, refurbishment, and recycling.

    3) Policy Commitments

    • Compliance: Full adherence to UK WEEE and environmental laws.
    • Licensed Partners: Only authorised recycling facilities used.
    • Traceability: All assets logged; clients receive Certificates of Recycling/Destruction.
    • Data Security: Wiping and destruction to HMG Infosec 5 (Higher) and NIST 800-88 Rev.1.
    • Reuse First: Prioritise refurbishment and component recovery.
    • Zero Landfill: All non-recoverable waste processed through certified channels.
    • Continuous Improvement: Regular review of processes to reduce emissions and waste.
